Buffalo Point Campground, next to the Buffalo National River in Arkansas, offers a beautiful Ozark wilderness experience. As the park’s largest and most developed campground, it provides a variety of accommodations and amenities for campers seeking adventure or relaxation along one of America’s most scenic rivers.
This is THE place to be if you have an RV and want amenities.
There are many campgrounds along the Buffalo National River but, if you are used to camping in campgrounds (not “roughing it”) this is where you need to be.
Location
Buffalo Point Campground is located near Yellville, Arkansas, in Marion County. To reach the campground, travel approximately 14 miles south on Highway 14 from Yellville, then 3 miles east on Highway 268.
The physical address is 2229 Highway 268 E, Yellville, AR 72687.

The roads to this campground can be steep and curvy so be advised. I will say that we towed our camper there without issue and there were several large 5th wheel campers in the campground as well.

One of the BEST parts of this campground is the swimming area on the Buffalo National River!

Isn’t that gorgeous?!
When we kayaked the Buffalo, we put in at Spring Creek and floated back to the campground. We pulled our kayaks out here. It was a bit of a walk back up the hill to the parking lot but it was worth it.

About the Buffalo National River
Established in 1972, the Buffalo National River was the first river in the United States to receive a national designation. Spanning 135 miles through the Ozark Mountains, it remains one of the few undammed rivers in the lower 48 states. The river offers a mix of running rapids and tranquil pools, flanked by towering limestone bluffs and rich biodiversity. –EOA
I filmed this video during a float! Keep in mind that I filmed this during SEASON ONE of our YouTube channel. So, bear with me. 😂
Visitors can enjoy a range of recreational activities, including canoeing, kayaking, fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing. The area is also recognized as an International Dark Sky Park, providing exceptional opportunities for stargazing. –BOC
